First step in the professional diving world! This course on board is only opened to divers who already joined a previous safari and had discussed the project in depth with one of our instructors. It requires quite some home-work prior to joining for the practice (all theory with PADI e-learning, reviewed on board) and a minimum of 2 consecutive weeks on the boat.
• Documents to be signed: medical statement, Liability Release and Assumption of Risk Agreement,
Safe Diving Practices Statement of Understanding, PADI membership and license agreement
• 18 years old, min. 60 dives (incl. experience in night dives, deep dives and orientation)
• Advanced Open Water Diver and Rescue Diver (EFR < 24 months) • Theory and knowledge reviews completed on PADI Dive master on-line • Course (full time) over 2 weeks minimum onboard. Early reservation required Specific Equipment required (provided for the course/ also available for rent/ for sale): • Time monitoring device, compass, knife/ diver’s tool, surface signalling devices (visible and audible), dive flag or parachute, RDP or e-RDP with instructions, Divemaster slates Theory: • Role & characteristics of a DM, • Supervising certified divers, • Assisting with student divers, • Safety and risk management, • DM conducted programs, • Specific competencies and activities, • Professional activity, • Your career, • Environment protection Practical exercises: • Physical condition and techniques (stamina and safety exercises, water skills demonstration), • Work and evaluation of professionalism, of competencies (dive site preparation and supervision, mapping, briefing, search and recovery, deep dive), • DM conducted programs (Reactivate, PMT, DSD, DLD) • Leadership. Prerogatives after certification: • As per the activities defined for a Divemaster, he is a dive guide who may guide certified divers, assist an instructor and even take charge of parts of some dive program training courses under the direct supervision of an instructor (Reactivate, PMT, DSD, DLD)
